Message is: I am interested in finding out what happened to most of my unit which was ambushed on or about June 13, 1969, in the area around Nui Ba Den Mountain. Bravo Company was supposed to be a "Blocking Force" for the Arvns, however, we were ambushed by an NVA unit . I was one of approximately 50-60 out of about 120+ troops that survived (unhurt) the ambush. We (survivors) were left behind unable to link up with the rest of the battalion. We spent the night in a rice paddy with our position being secured by constanct barrage of friendly artilliary since we had very little amo left after the fire fight. With exception of three or four bodies we recovered, I never learned what ever happened to the rest of my unit. Our XO was quickly dismissed/transferred and my company was reinforced with new incountries. I have checked for casualties during this period and found about a dozen or so. So most must have been wounded and sent home and it would be nice to locate these g! uys.

Message is: Nick (as I called him) had a red '64 Chevy Impala, 2-door HT. We met at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO on the way to join the 9th Infantry Division at Ft. Riley, KS. He was from the Gadsden/Huntsville, Alabama area. Wouldn't eat chickens, and possibly worked for Boeing in Huntsville. He was Battalion Clerk of 4th of the 47th Infantry in Ft. Riley and Vietnam. We went to Hong Kong together on R&R, and I believe that we ETS'd about the same time of late November 1967. We raced #56 together at Ft. Riley, KS; drank whiskey at Delmonico's and the Pink Door; he visited my family in Des Moines on the weekends and we made many fast trips in the T-bird and Corvette.
