Message is: Zack was a snipper with Alpha Co. 3rd of the 187th. He went on R&R and when he returned he was given a new M-14. When he test fired it the magizine exploded and injured his hand. In January of 1970 I transfered to Brovo Co. 158th Avation, Lancers. In Feburary or March Zach also came to Brovo Co. After I became Crew Chief he became my gunner. We were shot down on May 16th of 1970. He injured his back. I never saw him after that. I would very much like to hear from him. Zach was short for his last name. Message is: I'm trying to locate Larry with the above information. He was discharged in March of 1967. He has a brother, David, a Marine, who served in Cam Rahn Bay from 1965-67, and was discharged in March of 1967. Larry and David were feathred in one of the major dailies on the week of their discharge. A plaque of recognition was given to their mother for having two sons who both served in Vietnam as soldiers. We covered the entire I Corps from Da Nang to the DMZ. anybody have fond memorys the 5 ton 6x6 trucks running hard down the pocked marked roads catching a little day lite under the wheels, while a convoy Sgt. gave you the pick up the pace sign? Or how about spending the nite at fire base Bastone or Blaze after running out there to shuttle trailers for them , and relize how good we had it.
