Message is: I was an Artillery Forward Observer attached to C/3rd/506th. We were operating in an area known as the Le Hong Fong Forest, near Titty Mountain, attempting an encirclemant of the VC. After we were inserted we were moving to the position we were to occupy when we were caught out in the open in an old dry rice paddy. The first round fired by the VC was a B-40 rocket. It landed near the left foot of someone on my left. He was not more than five feet away and I believe he took the shrapenel and explosion that would have otherwise wounded or killed me, had he not been there. As I was diving to the ground I looked to my left and an image was imprinted in my memory that will never go away. I can't describe what I saw. It is there. Once it was one of my nightmare but finaly I made peace with it and that person who saved my life that night has become my Guardian Angle. I am quite sure he died. We attempted to get a medi-vac in to take him out but the VC kept shootin! g at the ME chopper each time it attempted to land. The Le Hong Fong Forrest was not a forest in the terms we think of a forest. It was a lot of scrubby, thorney, close to the ground shit that was, in places, almost impossible to get through. There was lots of sand. I fired a hell of a lot of artillery rounds that night and, to my knowledge, we took no more casualties. I don't remember the date of this operation. In my efforts to shut out the nightmares, I shut out any connections to dates. It seems to me like it all happened at the same time. I believe, from some notes I kept, it might have been in July 1968. If anyone remembers this contact, please, let me hear from you. If, by some slim chance my angle is stiil alive, I want to say thank you. If not, perhaps he has parents, a wife, or children who would like to know more about his death. I've cried at the wall for him believing he was amongst those in the 1968-1969 listing. It's weird that once I wanted to forget all that happened in Nam and ! now I want to recall some parts of it, but, having supressed it for so long, not much, in detail, will come back now. It's been a long road back home!!!!!

Message is: The man I am looking for is my father. I have never met him and am very eager for any info regarding him. I know very little except that he was a medical corpman stationed at one time in Ft.Gordon Ga. This is where he met my mother Beverly Parshley. I know that he was hispanic and his family lived in Tx. In 1969 my mother became pregnant and was discharged and returned to NH. My father had been sent to Vietnam just prior to this. I was born on March 12, 1970. I've been told that my father knew of my birth because he wrote my mother a letter stating he knew he was the father of a baby girl. This letter was lost and my mother never heard from him again. He was an observer on a LOH when a secondary explosion on the ground caused the LOH to crash on 7-21-69. The pilot and gunner died and David was evac'd and lived for 12 days. He died at 106th Gen. Hosp. on 8-3-69. He was 19 yrs. old and I had just turned eight. I would like to know more about what kind of a person my brother was and what he experienced in the last months of his life.
