Message is: Bill Diaco was my brother who died in August of l994. He was an officer in the United States Army holding the rank of First Lieutenant. Prior to his death he had told me that he was suffering from Post Tramautic Stress Syndrome because of experiences he encountered while in the Army. His Army records never confirmed a tour of duty in Vietnam but through investigation I had learned of his involvement in an unnamed project which may have been sponsored by the Air Force but the Air Force denied all. My brother had a security clearance and may have used an alias. He was stationed in Germany for a time as wellas Sandia Base, New Mexico, Fort Benning ,Georgia and was inthe Military Police. Among his personal effects was a certificate issued to him from the Disabled Vets of America ( DAV ) but hid DD-214 never listed him as being wounded. When I contacted the DAV they told me that all servicemen who served in Vietnam were issued these certificates and that the names were supplied by the Department of Defense. Again I cannot get any information to confirm this documentation. I loved my brother very much and have been trying to solve this mystery for the past thirteen years. Many people in the U.S. Army have worked very diligently in helping me to try and solve this matter. To all of them I am quite grateful. I know in my heart that something terrible happened to my brother and that someone who served with him knows the answer. I promise I will not reveal your identity or the circumstances involved. My brother had a very unusual nickname that was known only to those closest to him. If you can help me I will know you are serious if you can tell me his nickname. Bill once told me that he had spent some time in Thailand but never elaborated any further. He would not elaborate on details because he feared some sort of retaliation. I know this request is a bit unusual but I am only trying to find the truth. Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

Message is: My father-Captain John S. Seeley- was the first pilot from the 178th "Boxcars" to die in Vietnam. He was killed on June 27, 1966 near Dau Tieng in a CH-47 crash. I located the surviving pilot in July 1997. In September I located Dennis Rowe- a "hooch mate" as he called it who is in same tent in Phu Loi with "Big John" (Dad's military nickname). Dennis provided the names of the other tent buddies and last known employers. Thanksgiving 1996 my mother shared over 50 letters Dad wrote from overseas in the 90 days after arrival at Phu Loi. In a few letters he mentions Herb and wrote they served together in Korea as well. I wrote the Honolulu City Police Department which is where Dennis said that Herb Krause was last that Dennis knew. I addressed the envelope Herb Krause c/o of Honolulu City P.D. and it was returned to me with message "not at H.P.D." I'm attempting to find soldiers who served with Dad for I'm trying to write a book excerpting my father's letters home and the honorable service of the 178th "Boxcars" through the lens of one fallen soldier's letters home. Dad rose from private to Captain in his 1954-1966 United States Army career and deserves this effort in memory of him. His story of honor is only a mirrored reflection of thousands of stories of honor. Dad and 58, 208 did not choose to die, so it reflects the service of those who met the call to duty and returned alive. Its vital I find men like Herb Krause who served in other theatres with "Big John" for their assistance on this book. On May 22, 1997 in the BOISE WEEKLY I realized for my father an ambition he must have had when he asked mother to airmail him a writer's guide. "Angel, I Write These Things.." by John S. Seeley as told by his son Mark was published in 16,000 copies here and the 2,281 word article excerpts 5 0f Dad's over-50 letters to tell his story. I was only 5 when he died and never had the chance to really work with him on a father-son project, but I'm PROUD of him and "Angel, I Write..." Message is: I'm looking for anyone that served at an FOB Special Forces base. SFC Lewis (Don't Remember his first name) was an old Platoon Sgt I had in Germany, before Vietnam I ran into him, while on a mission for an FOB. I flew insertions and extractions, many under fire. I just need to know if they really happened or are just figments of my imagination. I was told on several occasions I would get an award for valor, when the missions were de-classified. I don't need any more medals, I do need to know if it was all real. Being smacked in the head with a rotor blade has left me a little fuzzy.
