Message is: I can still remember our FSB being overrun in the night as a lieutenant. Many brave things were done that night. I have dreams like it was yesterday. Remember the sergeant who drove the 5 ton flatbed throughout the night under both friendly and NVA fire to deliver ammo to the gun sections and bunker line....the BN HQ sergeant who carried the shotgun threw a NVA into a conex and later came back and threw in a grenade.......or the MEDEVAC pilot who made 7-8 runs in to pick up NVA and US wounded when other ships were grounded due to weather. 30 NVA were inside the wire before the first shot was fired....80+ NVA dead after it was over....remember our guys kept digging holes well into the daylight and wouldn't stop....if I would have only loaded up the two howitzers and had them fire on the river bed...that's were they were staging from...let me know if you were there, it might help.....
