Message is: After 6 months with the 199th LIB, Co. C, 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry, I was reassigned to the 527th PSC in Qui Nhon. I would like to find Barry Dwyer and Ted Thayer. The last time I saw Ted Thayer was while we were both in Cam Rhan Bay Hospital for about 4 weeks. Ted and I were in Infantry AIT @ Ft. Polk, Louisiana. I would like to find out what happened to him after we both return back to our units with the 199th LIB. I believe Ted was with either 4/12 or ?. Barry Dwyer and I arrived @ the 199th together back in July of 1969. I still have some of the photos he gave me to process for him. He meant a lot to me............during some very trying times in the field. He had a great personality and always found the good in everything. I miss him. I want to find out how it turned out for him after I left the 199th. A part of me will not rest until I find him and tell him what he meant to me. Just before I left the 199th we were on a search and destroy mission in an area ca! lled the Pineapple Jungle and we made contact with some VC. No one got hit, we blew up all the tunnels we could find and we were airmobiled out to a fire base next to a river where we stayed for a while before goind back to guard a village near Bon Song or ?.

Message is: I was in a self-made camp away from all other soldiers when Gen. Forsythe noticed me. He asked me where I'd been on R&R and I informed him that I'd yet to get R&R in my 10 months in Nam. He ended our conversation by asking me to send him a postcard. The next day, a choppe, sent by the Gen. (with the 1st Air Calvary emblem and bronze skids) made a special trip to pick me up. I spent the next week on R&R in Japan. I never got to thank the Gen. for giving me a week long rest from the jungle. It probably saved my life.

Message is: I am searching for my biological father which my mother lost contact about november 1966 because he was arrested for selling supplies on the black market. The only information my mother has is that he was obviously from the U.S. and was probably a supply officer. He was a husky man and is probably Italian or Jewish because he had bushy eyebrows as I do. His skin was medium color. I am assuming this date because I was born on June 10, 1967. My mother was living in Vung Thou when they met and later she found out he had 3 children and a wife in the States. My mother was known as Moi and he was close to my sister Loan and at the time my mother owned a bar called Calypso. This is much as my mother remembers but I need to console with my sister who has more info about him as soon as I get a hold of her.

Message is: Looking for anyone who knew or served with my brother. He was a West Point graduate ( 1963), married with 2 children. Was a helicopter pilot who was KIA Jan 24, 1967. We were told he was on a 5 man gunship. 3 Killed, 2 survived. Previous to that mission, his helicopter was shot down in Cambodia and airlifted back across the border.
