Message is: Sgt Bruce Hinz and I were graduates of Non-Commissioned Office Candidate Course at Fort Benning Ga in 1968. We were together at Benning and also for the second phase at Fort Polk Louisana. We became good friends. We shipped to Vietnam together in Nov 1968. We got seperated at Long Binh. I was assigned to 199th and he was assigned to Ist Division. He was origially from Merrill Wisconsin. I have not be able to find a Bruce Hinz from Merrill Wisconsin. He was born and raised in Miami,Florida and parents deceased at an early age and has a sister that was residing in the New York Area at that era in time; I take it from what i know of him situation in life he'll be on the go or active in alot of personaal endevours within his livelyhood. His nationality is French/Irish**I am French/Irish/Korean** If any one served with him or was taught by him please release me some info of how he was or is today if possible. He had time to come back to his old teahing grounds at Fort Lee but my mother and I left the country for other personal reasons and came back but haven't resided here as we are now right near Fort Lee until the early part of 1985 its 1998 aND still no sign of him 'sniffing' around his old Base. Message is: Hello, I was in the aviation platoon hhc 2nd brigade from may 66 to mar. 67. I'd like to hear from anyone that served in this unit during this time. Time has erased most of the names from my memory, I can remember only a few, Major Hale, Capt. Taylor, Mr. York, Hogan, Thorpe, Aycock, Brown, Demars, I can see a lot of faces but just can't remember the names. I went by the name Ed and was called Bulldog by some of the guys. Most of the time I was there I was the crew chief on the brigade commanders huey, when I left rather suddenly I was on a battalion com. ship and Major Hale had just got his thumb shot off, or part of it any way. We spent a lot of time in the field mostly at the oasis where we enjoyed thanksgiving and x-mas, and over on the coast at Bong Son. While we at the oasis some of us got to go into Pleiku for a while one day, I can't remember who all went but we had a really good time and a wild ride back in that 3/4 ton. And who could ever forget Sin City. Hogan, Demars and I went on R/R to Taipei together. I hope some one sees this whose memory is better than mine and e-mails me maybe it will jog my memory a little. Message is: Bob Thomas is my father. I haven't seen him for 14 years, and just want to check in. He was married to my mom, Betsy, from 1972-1973, and I think was married to a Swedish woman later, and had a son named Leif, but was divorced from her before he was two years old. The last I heard, he was living in/around Bellingham, Washington. I haven't seen my father sinceI was 11, 14 years ago. He was born in Kentucky/North Carolina/somewhere Southern, and I think his father was a military man. I know his parents at one time lived in Spokane, Washington, but no longer. He used to have a motercycle. When I was born, in 1973, my parents lived on a farm near Monroe, Oregon. When my Mom was pregnant with me, he was hit by a car while riding a bike, and was in the hspital for a long time. There's not much else I know, or can remember.
