Message is: I am writing on behalf of SSG Jose Figueroa's daughter Sonja Bagardi. Sonja recently approached me as a Vietnam veteran to seek information on her father killed in Nam so long ago. Like many other children of our KIA's, she has been wanting to do this for a long while. Sonja is happily married with 2 children of her own who will soon be asking about Grandpa. My own parents, both in their mid 70's, have been acting as stand in GPs. Sonja's dad Jose, was in the Army over 14 yrs at the time of his death. The little bit of his life that she remembers ends with an unexplained accident in which ssg Figueroa apparently leaped on a chopper to do something to it while it was under power and the rotor hit him killing him. If anyone can remember SSG Figueroa from his time in Nam or from any other time that you may have known him please contact me through the above email. Thank you.
