Message is: I'm Looking for these people whom I have not heard from in over two years for 2 of them. Hendrick(s)(Idaho) & Bob McBride (Maryland). They may have moved. David Hoyle (walked my slack) was from Florida, Al Volstad was from Minneopolis and had a friend whom I can't remember from the same area. We moved all over the country there. We were also stationed at camp Red Ball, I believe SW of Saigon and were near a 25th Inf base camp near Chu Chi where that squad got all shot up the 2nd night the CO sent them out on ambush. I can't remember the rest of the people who served with us. Peo Petrino (?) was arrested while we were outside of Ton so nut? during the 69 TET for pointing his weapon at the Lt. We were only there for a week or 2. If I'm not mistaken Renee Wackler stepped on a booby trap the last night I was there on Aug. 20 or 21st. Reuel hendricks left 1 or 2 days later and the Dog handler was shot in the head during that time. We were working West of saigon near the border. If anyone remembers me drop me a line, I would sure like to hear from someone. Thank You. Also I came in country with Alex Horn & Bob ?. We were assigned to the 101st up north by Camp Eagle/Camp Rodrigus. When we got off the truck, myself, Alex, Bob and 2 other guys were taken to the 82nd instead of the 101st. We were in the 1/505 at the time. After 1 month or the unit came to Long Bing for a stand down. After that I guess I got put in the 1/508th Co. D.

Message is: I was an infantry platoon leader in the 3rd Brigade of the 4th Division in 1967. In October, 1967 we were sent to the area west of Tam Ky, near LZ Mary Lou. On the night of October 9 - 10, 1967 we were involved in desperate fire fight. Late that night or in the very early morning hours "Dust-off 54 or 55" came out of Chu Lai and picked up eight wounded guys (myself included). The pilot had tried to land early in the evening but had taken three hits and had to pull out. It was too hot. He promised to come back when things calmed down and he did. VERY BRAVE MAN. I would like to thank him and his crew for saving us at such a risk to themselves. If you have any information that would help me locate them I would really appreciate it.

His nickname was "River Rat", and said he was from Leesville, Louisiana. Message is: Looking for Sgt Jones and the two GI gaurds who witnessed my being turned over to the VC in exchange for a captured Air Force Colonel. This occured Feb. 1967 before I was officially processed in country. A riverside Sgt Jones and myself and two gaurds. Two VC in tow with the Colonel came upriver. They turned over the Colonel (OAS) I went with them back downstream. Held and questioned for 20-30 minutes for propaganda purposes only. I was not harmed. It would be a relief to find you folks. At 050500 May 68 a Navy craft with 100 1st Log Cmnd replacement troops aboard was struck by mortar fire near the Da Nang Bridge ramp, also one round landed in the 156th Heavy Equip Maint compound at Da Nang. Seven US killed, eight wounded. At 150055 May 68, located at Wunder Beach, received ten to fifteen rounds of rocket/mortar fire. Ten US wounded.
