Message is: I am looking for Ned Shivar. He was my commanding officer while we were members of the 258th Personnel Service Company. We activated this company in Fort Hood Texas in 1967 and moved the company with troops and equipment to Chu Lai, Vietnam. There we served as part of a Task Force Oregon which later became the 23rd Infantry Division [Americal]. On February 1968 our base camp was attacked by the Vietcong or NVA shooting at us with 122mm Russian made rockets. One of these rockets hit our hooch where six of us lived. Five of us were hit by debris. Ned was the worst hit. He had to be med evacuated outside of Vietnam. That was the last time we talked to him.
