Message is: I am the wife of a vietnam veteran and my husband often says he would like to find some of the men he was stationed with. Being we are getting older and memores short, he can't remember the names of some of the men. This e mail stuff is new to us so I thought I would try this to see what would come of it. Hope to find someone and surprise him. At first we didn't talk about the war much, so I'm not much help to him remembering names. He did find two of his buddies and has had nice reunions with them and I would like to see more of this because it seems to lift his spirit alot. He doesn't dwell on the war at all, but it was a big part of his life and it's sad that we don't stay in touch. We were also stationed at Ft. Carson in 1969 for his last year of service. He ran bulldozers and heavy equipment.

Message is: He served 12/26/65 to his death at Subic Bay (Cubi Point) Hospital Phillipines (death was January 12, 1967. I was the last person to be with at the time of his death and have been trying to locate his family to share with them his parting thoughts. His mother was enroute to Clark AFB when he died. She was told to wait there and they would send his body to accompany home. Since I was Red Cross volunteer, I wasn't allowed to be with the transport of the body to speak with his mother. To my knowledge he was from Iowa (small town). His father died when he was much younger.
