I will never forget his last visit with us before shipping out to Vietnam in 1969, I always felt that he knew he would never come back. He was shot down over the Mekong Delta in June of 1970 while on a combat mission. I would especially like to contact his children who were very young when he died. Message is: Hi my name is samuel smith ex navy and I"m looking for my grandfather. He was in the army around the period of the late 50's. He was station at keelser airforce base in mississippi. There he was discharge around the late 1955. He's name was IVY KIDD he was born in 1914. Well he was getting discharge from the army about 1955,with his seperation pay. And he never made it home. He was coming home from mississippi to ohio. At the time he was riding the bus, either greyhound or trailways. He got to birmingham alabama and some men took him off the bus and hang him by a waterfoutain in the square of birmingham alabama. He then was buried in a unmark grave. We really don"t know to much to this story. But he's rank was E03 military specialty was 710l0. So if you could help on any information on this topic would be great. Or give more information of how long he serve in the Army.
