Message is: I have been looking for Michael Tilton Hathaway for a long time. His DOB is Feb. 15, the same as mine, comes from Conneticut and he went to VietNam in 1968. The name of the place, as far as I can remember, was something like Dang Tam. He worked with heavy equipment, building new roads and was a SPEC4, the last I heard from him. I was in my last year of High School when he went overseas. He wrote to me often and sent me flowers for my birthday in 1969. Message is: I am looking for anyone who may have served with my father, Joseph Phillip Silverman. He past away in January of 1999, and never spoke much about his time in the service. I have recently found a photo album with pictures of he and his buddies in the service. I wish I would have asked more questions when he were still alive, but I was younger then and always thought I had "tomorrow". In one picture, he is sitting on top of a sign that states Second Airborne Battle Group, 503d Infantry Combat Team w/ 2 other gentlemen. The names of the men are written on the back of the picture, which are John Russell and "Doc" Blake on Thanksgiving day 1961. Many other pictures have the name "Buzz" written on the back. It is hard to tell, but I believe that the last name on his uniform says Bateman. There are also other names such as, Eugene Fitzpatrick, Prado, and Taylor. On the back of another picture of my father after his first jump (he was a paratrooper) he has 377-160 ! 3 written on the back of it. In the same picture, he has a 77 on his helmet. I do not know what any of these numbers stand for. I also have a small article that references a jump of 1500 U.S. Paratroopers on a U.S. airfield in the Philippines. The drop took about 35 minutes. The last sentence in the article states, "The spectacular maneuver at Clark Air Force Base north of Manila was the first major action in exercise Great Shelf-Tapgo. If anyone can tell me anything about my father's time in the service, I will greatly appreciate it. I feel as though there is too much about my father that I do not know and I am ashamed of myself for that. He was a wonderful father and I feel I owe it to him to honor him and his brave service to our country.

Message is: Robert Anderson grew up in the Atco area of New Jersey. He graduated from Edgewood high school. He was in the Army from February 1964 to February 1967. His final discharge was 2/25/70. He was a "motar PT gunner and a tank dr." Bob was recently killed in an automobile accident. The police have been unable to locate all of his family members. From about June of ’66 to December of ’66, I was with Battalion Ambush and Recon Platoon at both Bear Cat and Dian. I am having trouble remembering HQ Co’s Commanding Officer, EO and First Sgt’s names. My name is John H Greb - RA13809278. I remember a few names from the first and second ambush and recon squad: Ron Thrush from Brunswick, OH, squad leader Sgt. Florian Marin from NM, and Rochell from Shrieveport, LA. There was also a guy with a playboy bunny on the left side of his flak jacket (I don’t remember his name). I was out on patrol on 29-Oct-66, when we ambushed a platoon of VC or NVC. The ambush took place about 1 click from the USO close to Dian by a railroad line. The RTO killed 6 or 7 and was wounded in the back of the arm. We had to pull back into the bush until daybreak before returning to Dian. Late in Nov.’66, we were ambushed by a hamlet with an open field on the left, and on the right there were high hedgerows. We were hit with a landmine or claymores and were pinned down by small arms fire. At this ambush, the pointman, nicknamed Lurch (can’t remember his real name) was either KIA or WIA. I also can’t remember the new squad leader’s name as Sgt. Marin w! as not on this patrol. If anyone out there can remember any of these events or names from Ambush and Recon, I need your help because the VA says that we did not exist. I would need a roster of this A&R Platoon. Message is: At the tender age of 12,when my world was riding horses. Starting Junior High should have been my only worry. The Viet Nam War was on my mind every day. You see I was blessed with four older brothers. Three were in the service at once, two in the Army and one a Marine. I remember the day well. Guy the youngest of my older brothers, was home on leave. I was at home with some friends goofing off like a 12 year old should be doing. When a knock on the door stopped us. I answered the door. Here stands two Soldiers. They wanted to speak to my Dad. He wasn't homr from work yet. So they said they would try later. Being nieve at 12, I joked with my friends about Guy being AWOL. Little did I know they were there because ,Mark had been killed. It was a day that still haunts me. It is still a day Dad wants to forget.But can't even after all these years. I'm tring to find anyone who served with my brother. Message is: On October 26, 1966 we were members of the Company A 1st Battalion 4th Engineer Training Brigade. After dinner that evening we where called to formation. Once formed orders assigning us to Vietnam were read. Our assignment was to be the 18th Engineer Brigade. When we arrived in country around Thanksgiving of 1966, we were assigned to individual units. Most of us would never see or hear from each other again. The names on my order extract were: Smith, Harvey/ Spieske, Richard/ Stovall, Ronald/ Teague, Herbert/ Thornhill, Jay/ Tripp, Lynn/ Trude, Larry/ Ward, Thomas/ Whitson, Dennis, Williams, James/ Winters, Kim/ Burgess, Kenneth/ Cheuvront, Allan/ Clinton, Harry/ Conrad, Donnie/ Cook, Gordon/ Crossley, William/ Cunnigham, Joseph.
