He was with the 1st Squadron 4th Cavalry DARK HORSE Troop D (Air) and in 1966 was in the 1st Battalion 16th Infantry HQ Company. Where he fought in the Battle of Bong Trang against the Phu Loi Battalion. He was a tank commander and drill sergeant as well during his career. He earned the Bronze Star, The Silver Star, The Vietnam Service Medal, and the Purple Heart during his two tours in Vietnam. He was born in Maine but lived in KY just before his second tour.
