Message is: Jimmy Lowrey was shot down in cambodia while flying with the 119th AHC Gun Platoon. He was captured by the VC and held in a tiger cage for four months until he killed one of his captors an escaped. He is not sure whether it was 1969 or 1970 but he believes it was around June 13th. The last three tail numbers of his ship were 460. He was the crew chief. I too am a VN Vet and Jim and I are closer than brothers as most of you will understand. Message is: My Uncle Victor passed in 2003. I'm hoping to find out his storis to pay tribute. He was the victim of hazing at the hands of some anti-war-idiot-hippies on returning home in his uniform. After that, we think, he decided not to talk about being a veteran. We think, after that, he started not coping. However, once he did tell my Dad (Also Viet Nam Vet) a horrifying story: His unit was under attack. At some point, the enemy got him and his superior. They were taken away. They were bound with barbed wire. His superior died, but they were kept wired together anyway. Americans attacked the Vietnamese later causing Victor to be abandoned alone in the jungle. He wandered lost and sick (I don't know if he was hurt) in the jungle for an unknown amount of time until another American unit collected him. Does this story remind anyone of one they've heard?
