SP4 Frederick D. "Buddy" Hodgkins served as a Combat Medic in Vietnam during the period 1966-67. He served in the 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry, of the 1st Infantry Division ("Big Red One").

His awards include the Silver Star, Combat Infantryman's Badge, and the Combat Medics Badge.
