I wrote the attached when I was in college. I took an English class, only because it was required. I had to write a paper, again. This time the subject was "something that affected my life". Ironcally, this was not a tough task.

As far back as I can remember the "Vietnam War" has been a part of me. This is how I chose the subject of my paper. "The Wall". It is an experience that I will never have again and honestly, I never want to do again. Even though it brought me and my dad much closer together, I would give anything that I have in the world for my dad to have NOT seen and done what he did.

A lot of years have passed since I wrote this paper. I have since had it framed for my dad and it hangs on the wall of my parent's den along with his honerable discharge. Whenever I visit them, I read it. I am proud and humbled at the same time.

I hope that you will share this paper with all. It was written from my heart. I thank God for bringing my father home safe. After all, I am the person I am because of my father and my mother.

God Bless us all.
