Message is: During our final months in country Richard and I wrere assigned to a Vietnamese unit called TouyBo15 somewhere in the delta.While on routine excersices a 20mill machinegun on Dick's boat jammed.We beached the two boats while a vietnamese sailor attempted to dislodge the round.The machinegun went off and hit the boat I was on wounding me in the leg(rt ankle).I was taken by chopper to an Army field hosp.Stayed there for three days then on to Saigon. Message is: Corpsman Fingers was in action near CaLu on July 21, 1967 and attached to a reinforced Marine platoon going to the aid of a convoy. He was following the Marine PFC "Arty" who was injured in the head and right foot. Assisted him up the side of the highway, administered aid and while waiting for reinforcements, saved his wounded comrade from the NVA soldier across the road by using the M14 to fire and dispatch the enemy. He then cared for the Marine after being wounded by fragments from bombs and he was also wounded in the wrist. Marine John Muller used field dressing on Corpsman Fingers'wrist. Any information leading to finding Corpsman Fingers would be most appreciated.
