Message is: Recall when the Aif Force moved in to train the Morracian Air Force on the F-5 Fighter. The good times we had down town in Kanitre (sp) aand all the fishing trips you Navy guys took up in the mountains. Your secret hide away, never told to the Air Force guys. We were a small community on base and off base. Lost one pilot and tranee Morracian in the hills while I was their. Also I was the only Air Force Bartander in the base Acee, Ducey Club. Bar always opened promply on time..but hell to close. Also hello to George and Carrie electronics mate and the guys in the SP area over in confinement (Jail area) for the many cups of coffee and fun we had. I would read the questions out of the Blue Jacket Manual and the guys would answer. Always had a laugh, but we studied for those tests.

Message is: David G. Miller 9-02-01 River Divisions 512 & 531. After training out on the West Coast,(coronado and vallejo) I was sent to RivDiv 512 in Binh Thuy in May of 68. My boat captain was GMG1 John Banks. My engineer was EM2 Walter (Rap) Brown. We ran the Bassac River until orders came in to proceed on the LST (which we were then operating on) up to the Saigon area where we would then relieve another division operating at Tra Cu. Upon completion of the 2 month stint in Tra Cu, we assembled 2 boat crews to "go get the ice".. Some so-called friendlies were killed in the process. The thrown together boat crews were then shipped out to Nha Beh to RivDiv 531. My new C O was a guy named Ricketts. We ran out of Nha Beh, working with the Seal Team until orders came in to proceed back into the SlingShot to a new outpost right on the border called Tay Ninh. I lost that boat crew the second night in Tay Ninh. When I came back from my 30 days leave, we were still at Tay Ninh! . We finished that tour and were sent back to Nha Beh. Some time after that we recieved orders to the 'Upper Saigon River' to work with the 82nd airborne. After a couple months up there, my 'short calendar' was complete and I shipped out (after 3 days in Saigon) to Seattle Wash., where I was discharged Dec.,9,1969.. The only 'vet' who I served with that I've had any contact with is Bill Kell out in Tucson, Az(formally of Boise, Id..)
