This picture was
taken at the Cam Lo firebase in June 1968. Pfc Charles Kimble is on the left
and I am on the right {with glasses}. We had just taken a lone incoming
round that impacted at the main gate to the base which was off to the right
a 100 yds or so. It hit right in the middle of a group of children who were
hanging around outside the gate Killing one and wounding most of the rest of
them. The kids all ran into one or another of the hooches in the back
ground, just about all of them were bleeding from wounds. The one that was
killed ran a ways but dropped in the road.
