Message is: I am interested in contacting relatives or friends of Merrill Lewis Jr., of Indianola IN, who died in Vietam, either at the time the plane he was piloting crashed on 7/20/66, or after he was taken prisoner by the North Vietnamese. His remains were positively ID'd in 1989. Records concerning him conflict, however, so it is unclear when he died, and when his body was recovered. His POW bracelet, which my sister wore from 1971 to 1973 listed him as Major Lewis, however I believe he is listed on the Vietnam Veterans memorial as Colonel Lewis.
