Message is: This gentleman was called Ken, but I am sure his name was Kenneth. I am not sure of his middle initial but believe it was either "E" or "W". Ken was a SSgt probably between 28 and 35 years of age. Ken worked as the Mail Clerk for the 361st TEWS in 1966/67 at Nha Trang. I believe Ken was stationed at McClellan AFB in California before he went to Vietnam in 1966. He was at McClellan after his return from Vietnam in 1967/68??. Ken's AFSC was in the aircraft field, probably 431X1A. He was assigned to Vietnam as a Flight Mechanic for the EC-47's I believe, but opted to not fly and instead operate the Mail Room.. Ken had a cross of sorts tattooed on his upper left arm. While at Nha Trang, he lived for the most part at Number 2 Melein in downtown Nha Trang with myself, Ken Stump, Herb Riley, among others. A Photo of Ken as he appeared in 1967 can be seen on "The EC-47 History Site" at: http://www.ec47.com/s-people.htm Ken's hobby was old cars and he had a Model "A" Ford Coupe. Message is: Hello out there -- Looking for folks who walked mutts in Libya before Vietnam, and then for the folks I served with in the war during two tours back to back. Oct 67-end of Feb 68 was at TSN and then went TDY to DaNang and other places around I Corps as a combat news writer, Mar-May 68. Was in Pleiku for TDY in summer of 68 and then spent a lot of the fall in III Corps (Tay Ninh, Trang Sup, Tien Hnong (very briefly at SF camps)). 1969 I was NCOIC of the TSN AB Office of Information. Until 1969 the air base level stuff had been handled by the 7AF DXI crew but the new colonel in early 1969 wanted each air base to have its own IO shop. Was on non crew member flying status and flew aboard AC-47 out of DaNang, Pleiku and Bien Hoa, AC-119 (C Flt/71st SOS out of TSN); A-37 out of Bien Hoa; lots of different kinds of trash haulers; O-2s, Heliocourier PSYOP runs in IV Corps. Covered USAF stories in the field with 1st Cav; 25th INF, 5th SF; 26th Marine Rgmt;some others. No big w! ar story. Mostly we were in and out kind of folks, gathered our stuff, shot our film and booked. We were told by our "leaders" we were "...helping to tell the air war story from the customer's point of view...."
