Message is: I am looking for anyone who served with my father. He died on March 16, 1969 after surviving being shot down. I think he was found somewhere in Cambodia and taken to a Japanese hospital. I think he was then slated to be sent to Texas to a burn center as he was burnt over 80% of his body however, he died the night before due to pneumonia. I was told that he was a loadmaster on a C-130 Starlifter and he was flying non-combat missions and he was the only survivor from the crash. The government has never really told our family the truth about what happened and I need to know. I do not know his unit or squadron number and I am not sure of his date of enlistment. My family does not talk about him due to the painful nature of his death but I am highly interested to find out what my father was like. We were stationed in Charleston, SC and daddy was 21 when he was shot down. His name (and the rest of the crew) were not initially put on the war memorial because the governme! nt said he didn't die in a "war zone" but, after much campainging, some of my aunts got his crew added in the 1986 dedication. My father's full name is Eugene D. Pizzino, II and he probably served about 3 years or so. PLEASE HELP ME TO FIND ANYONE WHO KNEW MY FATHER SO I CAN ASK THEM ABOUT HIM AND THE REASON FOR HIS DEATH (WHAT REALLY HAPPENED)!!!!!! Thank you.

Message is: In April 1988 on my first visit to THE WALL I met Col. Standerwicks daughter at a POW/MIA information hutch, down the stairs from the Lincoln Memorial. I asked her for a POW/MIA braclet of an Air Force person, for obvious reasons, and she explained to me that the only one she had was that of her father who was shot down in Feb 71. I told her that that was when I was over there and she took off her braclet and put it on my wrist. I never took it off.
