Message is: I am the daughter of Otto George Wenz. As noted, he was a private in the US Army. He lived in or near Norwell Massachusetts at the time of serving in Vietnam. He was married to my mother Kathleen Wenz, Mahaney. His parents were named Otto and May Wenz of New York City, NY. I'm not sure of dates served but I know he returned sometime in 1971. His birthday was March 31st 1946 or 1947. My father passed away of a heart attack before I had the opportunity to know him as a person, not just a daddy. My heart is heavy laden at my missed opportunity. My four siblings and I are searching to understand who our father was and is, in memory. Several years after his return he raised all five of us alone and in our eyes...is a true hero. He was a strong impressive man in stature but possessed a gentile soul that lived within the boundaries of his flesh. He never spoke of himself but rather put all his energy into us children as well as those around him. His selflessness in serving, whether for our country or his children, has been preserved in the embalment of his memory and I wish to learn more of this amazing man I call Daddy.
