Have been diagnosed with: Sleep Apnea, PTSD, tremors, loss of balance, 2 additional heart attacks resulted in quadruple bypass and valve repair. I have cancer now in lungs,brain, kidneys, liver, stomach and back. While in South East Asia, I was pulled without orders by Air America for Vietnam duties. I was attached to Unit 555 Red Horse. My name is Lawrence Northup but known by many as "Lurch". A claim filed with the VA is pending unless I can find people who remember me and can verify my being in Nam. There are many out there in my situation and many others have already died. It may be to late for me, but we need to find a way to help all other Vets that will come after us in getting the proper medical care before it's to late. Please brain storm with ideas so we can help others in the futu! re. I cannot even remember names of people I served with at this time. I am proud of having been there and having served my Country, but would like to make a contribution in changing the present laws "whereas we have to prove being there, while somewhere the Government has those records." I only rememeber the name of one of the guys as Dewy Dodson. I have pic's of them all but can not recall their names. One of was a red headed guy from Ohio. Also my roomate at Bunker Hill was a black kid named Q.T Edwards who was also from Ohio. He saved me from a butt kicking in a bar one night in Kokomo, Ind. Back of px says USAF (Photo) Det 13 600th Photo Sq AAVS (MAC) 25 Jun 68. When he left Moody AFB to go to Vietnam he was in the 3550th Fld Maint Sq (ATC). When he came back from Nam he was stationed at Moody again. 43291- Jet Engine Supt. also was Airplane Mechanic Supt 621.281. They told him they'd give him another stripe if he'd go back to Nam. He said no and retired from Moody AFB, GA 1970. Whatever he did in Nam, he told us it was Top Secret and he couldn't tell anyone. He passed away in 1984. Never did find out what he did.
