Message is: I am looking for anyone who may have served with my brother Dayne York Scott. He was a Navy corpsman and had several nicknames. "Scotty, Scott and Doc" were some of those nicknames. He was a gunnery sergeant, assigned to a medevac unit for HMM-161. Dayne was killed October 17, 1968 while aboard a CH-46 over Laos. His team located a wounded Marine and while they were coming down to make the pick-up, an NVA soldier fired an RPG at the chopper. No one survived. I was able to locate Al Hemmingway who put me in touch with Ron Winter. Winter is an author of a book I'm also looking for called "Masters of the Art." Winter told me that John Allison was the crew chief of the recovery team that ultimately recovered the remains of my brother and the other men. The crew consisted of Joseph Powell, James Sweet, Bill Frantz, John Farrazzano, Don Vaughn and Robert Cheek. It is likely that if anyone knew the other crew members, they might remember my brother Dayne. I'd li! ke to hear from anyone who might h ave a story to tell me about Dayne. I keep him with me, in my heart. I think, if I could hear from someone else who knew Dayne, it would ease the pain a little. Thanks for your time.
