Message is: An explosion and fire consumed the entire battery on 5/13/69. I was at Camp Pendleton at the time. I never found out exactly what happened. A Marine from F2/12 has told me there was a fire going for coffee and a chopper came in and whipped the fire into a powder storeage area causing the explosion. Steve was killed along with the CO, XO and others. They are all on the WALL together. I want to speak with his folks. He was a great kid and a great Marine.
