Message is: Looking for Douglas K. Mahon who was a Sgt. during the Viet Nam war. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune and was a "prison chaser" and was also in some type of communications job. He served in Viet Nam between l965 until l967 or so. He later left the Marines and went to San Diego to school about l970. He was originally from Media, Pennsylvania and graduated from Penncrest High School about 1958. His mother Irene lost track of him after about 1978 and believed he was living and working in the southern California area.

His second tour of duty was 1967 and ended 3-26-68 when he was listed KIA/no body recovered, supposedly wounded and crashed helicopter into China Sea. Message is: Looking for a Marine L/Cpl. known only as "Sonny". He was terribly wounded (9 bullet hits) on Aug. 3rd. 1968. We (2nd plt. A Co. 1/5) were ambushed by the NVA in a graveyard. Sonny was from the State of New Jersey, no known address is available. Sonny is probaly 100% disabled. I stay with Sonny when the rest of the platoon pulled back. We fought off the gooks for hours and servived. He would know me only as "Mac". Thank's for your help!
