Now, I was wondering if there's anyone else who might remember Bruce. Blaine Moyer called him "Robbie" - maybe other people knew him by that name.His hometown is Falls Church, VA. DOB: 9/26/46 - caucasian - married to Ruthie for just a couple of months before he left for Vietnam. Serial number: 2390405, Component: Regular, Pay grade: E4, MOS: 0341. Blaine told me the batallion had just received orders ro pull out of Laos, and while on a position on a hilltop, they came under mortar fire, and Bruce, and several others all died when the first barrage hit. Does anyone know/remember Robbie? It would mean so muc! h to me, because I don't want him to be forgotten. He had no brothers or sisters, his Dad died when he was nine, his Mom died this year. I don't have a scanner to scan his picture, but if I can get an address, I'll mail a copy of a picture. Message is: My name is Michael Barnett and I am seeking anyone who served with my brother, Meredith Lee Barnett, aka Dee. He did his basic training and AIT as an MP at Camp Pendleton, CA. in 1969. He was killed by "friendly fire" while saving a fellow Marine. Sgt. Barnett was killed 6 November 1970, near Quang Tri, north- west of Da Nang. The details that I know surrounding his death are few. The info we received said that his platoon came under artillary fire and that he left a secured area and threw himself on top of the closest Marine moments before a round detinated ten feet away. He received the Silver Star posthumously in a ceremony in our hometown of Marietta, OH. I miss my brother tremendously and would appreciate any information or correspondence regarding his time in Camp Pendleton or Viet Nam.

Message is: I am looking for the former Marine Corporal who worked with Bernie Claus in Anchorage, Alaska on various construction jobs in 1982-83. This Cpl Thomlinson claimed to have been with my son, Sgt. Geo. W. Storz, when he was killed at Khe Sanh on 8 March, 1968. In 1983, the last time Bernie saw him, he left with Bernie some verses he said George had written, some of them with his help. Bernie hung on to them for another 15 years until he finally located George's family who would like to publish the verses but are reluctant to do so until sure of authorship. I have learned that Cpl Thomlinson served as a messenger, delivering mail, etc. to units on the Rock Quarry 1/2 mile outside the base at Khe Sanh.
