Message is: I haven't had any luck regarding this gentleman, I saved his life in vietnam once, he inturn erased my record book, gave me a second r&r to thailand. He is indian though, his partner was called chief Begay, have never contaced him to try and find chief clark. Chief Clark was also in Zulu platoon with me in vietnam, but he was an office pogue, and sometimes had to go out on patroll with the rest of us! Have never been able to get him off of my mind, especially the day he almost drowned in a river, I jumped in to retrive him, and gunnery sergent perez was killed that same day. Gunnery sergent Perez was going to right me up for an award that day for saving chief Clarks live, but I understand that the gunny was killed that day by a booby trap? Can anyone put my wandering to rest, I have always wanted to say thansk for being my friend, and for helping me understand the indian way.

Message is: I have recently read a letter from PFC. Wood to my mother. This letter is dated July 1968 and carries the unit description listed above. In this letter, Pfc. Wood describes how then Pfc. Stephen (Tex) Daniel saved his life by carrying him (Pfc. Wood) to safety while under fire of a 30 Cal machine gun. Lcpl. Daniel was later KIA in April 1969. Message is: I was a new 2nd Lt. when I arrived in country in November 1968. Cpl Alfred E. Thomas was my platoon guide. We became very close in a short period of time. He told me a lot about his experiences at Khe Sanh and I listen intently. The advice he gave me helped me survive and successfully lead my platoon through many combat situations. Message is: Last known to have been injured in Viet nam in 1967. He was stationed in Long Beach in 1966 on the US Kearsarge and was promoted to Sgt on Sept first while on board the Kearsagre. Message is: I am looking for the Doctor that treated me for psychological problems at the mainside area at CamPen. I first came into contact with him while I was on a Field exercise in FEB ? of 69. He treated me for getting gasoline in my eyes 1st. But, during the course of our contact, I "confessed" to the psycho problems I was having. He told me he was a shrink and I saw him frquently throughoput 1970 'til my seoaration in Sept. I was transfered from the 5th MEB band to Alpha Co First Tanks in Apr. '70, but still saw him at mainside. The only mention of this in my Medical records is "to mainside to see MO" and "refilled Thorazine". The Dr. was an O-4 (LT) USN and was a draftee (or what ever they call conscripting doctors) Please, please if you know of this Dr contact me with his name. As you might guess I hope to get PTSD treatment based on those treatments.
