He was 23 in 1968. In 1968 he was back in the Akron Ohio area after spending 6 months in a mental hospital with combat fatigue and depression due to being captured as a prisioner of war. He was also diagnosed with "water in his lungs." He worked as a gas station attendent and checked clocks. He was in a severe motorcycle accident in 1968 and injured his back. This accident caused him to not marry his girlfriend.

Message is: At about 10:30 AM on Friday, March 8, 1968, Khe Sanh came under heavy mixed artillery and mortar fire (40 rounds in 4 minutes). A helicopter parked there, waiting to load wounded and personnel leaving on rotation, etc., received 50 shrapnel holes, several men were wounded, including 1 crewman. Two were killed, including my son, George Wm. Storz, 1/9 H&S Co., who was being rotated home for discharge. As an able body, he was helping load wounded as a litter-bearer when he was hit. I am anxious to find anyone, pilot, crewmen, corpsmen, from any branch, who has knowledge of the event.

Message is: I was a corpsman with 1st platoon, F 2/3 from 5/17/66 until 2/18/67. On 5/9/67 six members of that platoon were killed, I was told it was on Hill 881.
