Message is: My childhood friend, 2Lt. James Witt was killed on Feb.14,1969. The night before Jim was killed, he gave my address to Cpl. Blanchet, and he suggested Frank write to me. Jim must have had a premonition of his own death. Frank Blanchet was wounded trying to save Jim. Frank was taken to a hospital, and there learned that Jim died. In his returned gear, he found my address. He wrote to ask where Jim was buried. I lived in Toledo, OH and Jim lived in the Cleveland area. I couldn't help Frank. After 31 years, however, I have reconnected with the Witt family, and I would very much like to answer Frank's question. I feel that Jim would want this. He was from FL, around 5'11" tall, dark hair, and eyes. He has a circle shaped birthmark on his upper stomach. He is possibly an only child and of the Catholic faith.
