Message is: ALL Marines, those that have served with or who knows about Sensors, Ground Radar (MOS 5931) or who kew about the M-151 Jeep that had a searchlight mounted on the back of it. This unit would be assigned to any unit at the above mentioned bases and also were we had relay sites manned by Recon. This unit would also go out with any branch of our military and included the ARVN's,. The men assigned to the Ground Surveilance unit came from different units, return from med-evacs, had different MOS's. this was to bring this unit up to staff. It started being the unit that was to built the MacNamara's Wall (The electronic wall that used sensors of many different designs, Radar sites, Towers, bases designation like A-1, A-2, C-1 C-2, C-4. The major bases that would staff infantry unit to respond to infiltrators were know as Dong Ha and Quantri.

Message is: i am involved in a fight that i believe involves all vets. to make a long story short. the upstate ny counties of oneida and herkimer have joined forces to place a landfill on a "veterans memorial forest" in upstate ny. the vets up here are true blue but theres not a lot of money around. the forest is their "wall" . the vets groups there have combined to form the v.d.m.f. or veterans defending memorial forest. at one point they actually occupied the forest. all the vets did their share..including ww2 vets. for approximatley 2 weeks they occupied it in the rain..afterwards local groups turmed out at a protest.. combat wounded spoke along with gold star mothers pleading and sometimes weeping with the pain of it..hans arnold the executive director of "herkimer- oneida waste managment" said publicly that he thought it was a circus. anyhow sir. the guys in he vdmf are feeling extremely incensed. i cannot stress that enough. very very angry. the battles been going on a whil! e. ive only joined it a few months ago. we cant do anything about the dead in the past but we can still do something to prevent this huge disrespect.
