Message is: Met "Charlie" at the East Orange Veterans Hospital, E. Orange, NJ approximately 1969 (could have been 1968), where I was a volunteer. I was only about 20 at the time, he was about 21 or 22. Had been in the Vets system for some time when I met him, as I remember he mentioned quite a few other hospitals he had been in. He is a 3x amputee, dark hair, dark eyes, great sense of humor, more importantly an incredible spirit and one of the most wonderful people I have ever met. Told me he was wounded when a booby trap went off (hand granade?). Also told me he used to go into tunnels checking on the enemy. While at the hospital in NJ, he got a purple Challenger, equipped so he could drive it and he and a friend used to visit me at my parents home in Kenilworth, NJ. There aren't many days that go by that I don't think of Charlie and wonder how things worked out for him. I don't know how I could have ever allowed myself to lose touch with him, but I did and have posted m! any of these messages thoughout the years, as well as trying to find him thru the Government. PLEASE, if you're out there or there is anyone who is out there that knows what happend to Charlie, I would appreciate an e-mail. One other thing, he had a friend at the hopsital who was wounded very badly at Hamburger Hill. There are a million things I could remember about him, but I know the space is limited.
