Message is: I am looking for Jose Ramos who was stationed in Camp Pendelton in San Diego, California approximately in November or December 1969 before being sent to the Vietnam War. My sister Dora met him at the Pike which is an amusement park in Long Beach California and they spent that night together. He gave her a piece of paper with his name and address but she was already married and her husband was in Germany and was discharged in April of 1970 and she tore that paper up so that he wouldn't find it. Well she bore a son on August 30, 1970 and the doctor confirmed it was a full term pregnancy. All she remembered is that his name is Jose Ramos and was from San Antonio, Texas and he told her that his family was well off and if she was to become pregnant to contact him, I guess he had an intuition that they had conceived a baby that night. She never knew she was pregnant because her menustration cycle had always been irregular and she had a period every three to four months. Her so! n Jose learned one day of his real father and has since been yearning to meet him and let him see his grandson lil Jose. If somebody out there knows how to get a hold of Jose Ramos for me please give me a call at 626 851-1230 and leave me a message so that we can set up a meeting. This is but another one of the vietnam stories that haunt vietnam viets that are already established with families of their own but please if you do know anything, find it in your heart to grant my nephews dream of meeting his real father. Message is: After Ordnance School at Quantico in the Summer of 66 I arrived in country in Sept 66. I had been trained as a Ammunition Inspector but they needed combat engineers badly so we were sent to a 1 or two week demolition and mine warfare school in Da Nang. Then sent to "C" Co 1st Bn Engineers in Da Nang. I believe this was 3rd Mar Div but I am not sure. I spent the next 12 months with the 1st Platoon of "C" Company. 1st Platoon was on Hill 55 and supported 1/26th Marines. We swept Liberty Road every morning for mines. I also spent about two months with "C" Co. 1/26 where they were posted in a muddy compound off Liberty Road about a mile past the river. Then in the Spring of 67 we moved north to Khe Sanh and I rotated back home in Oct. I have just recently become interested in contacting some of my old buddies.
