Message is: J.C.was a Cpl.when he came to Viet Nam sometime in 1968.He was assigned to the ninth engineers at chu-li.He was then sent to hill 63.The first I remember of him is when we were north of hill 63 staying with the Korean Marines.There we constructed a mess hall for the Roc's,and did mine sweeps both north and south of the compound.We were on a sweep when we were sniped at and when we got down to return fire they blew up the side of the road with several,believed to be 105 rounds buried on the bank.Cpl.Williams was wounded and after being medevaced was later sent to Oki. There he was later serving in an M.P.Co.When sent stateside he was attached to the Second Engineer Bt.at Camp Lejuene N.C.,from there he was discharged.I believe him and his wife Kathy moved back to his home town of Bluefield W.Va.Anyone who knows of his where abouts please contact me at cherstine@cox.net or mail me at Charles Herstine 4907 Furguson Valley Rd.
