My thoughts were more along the lines of how bad daily life was for the grunts. it is not that our was good, but it is seems to me theirs was worse i.e supplies, food, medical care. As for the brutal stuff, I suspect it was more a case by case situation both in WWII and VN. I never heard of anybody ...

Compared to Band Of Brothers, it seemed a little too Hollywood for me which is to say nothing about the actual experiences of the WWII soldiers and Marines in the Pacific who I suspect had it a somewhat worse than we did in VN.
